Jaime’s Story
Jaime M. Andrade, Jr. is a son of immigrants, husband, father, and lifelong resident of Illinois’ 40th District. He attended St. Andrew Elementary School and Gordon Technical High School, and earned a B.S.B. in Accounting from DePaul University. Jaime’s community leadership started close to home—he served as a founding board member of the Cardinal Bernardin Early Childhood Center and has been active with the North River Commission, Rincon Family Services’ Avondale Coalition, and the Albany Park Neighborhood Council. Those neighborhood roots shape his hands‑on, collaborative approach to public service.
Community Involvement
Jaime’s commitment to service goes beyond legislation. He is deeply involved in local organizations, working side‑by‑side with neighbors to address real challenges and build a stronger district. Jaime regularly volunteers at community events, supports local schools, and collaborates with advocacy groups to expand affordable housing, improve public safety, and promote access to health care. He is known for his open‑door policy and for meeting constituents where they are—at block parties, neighborhood meetings, and local businesses. His work with the North River Commission, Cardinal Bernardin Early Childhood Center, Rincon Family Services, and the Albany Park Neighborhood Council reflects his belief that lasting change starts with community‑driven action.

Standing Up for Working Families
Jaime champions fair taxation and closing corporate loopholes so the budget works for people—not special interests. He supports progressive, evidence‑based revenue ideas that stabilize finances while protecting middle‑ and low‑income households.
Lived Experience That Informs His Work
Outside the Capitol, Jaime has worked as a rideshare driver and is a proud union stagehand with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE). That lived experience—balancing family, work, and community—grounds his day‑to‑day constituent service.
